A year ago today, the Handsome Young Thing Blog was created and what a year it was. Now even though it has been over 6 months since I last posted, I have still maintained my handsomeness, my youngness, and my thingness. I just wanted to thank you for all the support you all have provided me to continue to maintain this awesome lifestyle. Since it has been so long since I’ve posted, I’ve decided to do a recap of the past few months. For the record, I’ve kept the mustache.

I have become an active dancer and also visited the guys at the Jersey Shore (from the MTV show). They gave me the shirt and we had a dance off. I won, and for the entire night was known as “HYT, the King of Dance.” Shouts and high fives for the dudes at the Shore, and low fives for the gals over there. Hollaaaa

As Lil Wayne said it best “Everytime I come around yo city, Bling Bling.” Just me showing off some of the fan bling that I received. CA$H MONEY IN THE HIZZ-HOUSE!

This picture was the center of controversy after it was all of the internet. Rumors circulated that I gained 200 pounds from eating fatty foods and this picture was the “proof.” Obviously those rumors were false, here’s the real picture (notice my handsomeness, youngness, and thingness!). You’re allowed to enjoy some dessert every now and then.

Me being silly (without my mustache). Don’t worry the ‘stache grew back in 5 hours after the game. There is some stupid rule that prevents people from mustaches from entering the stadiums. Facialhairism at its worse!

Here is a toast to all my fans for their continued support. Don’t worry there is no alcohol in it! It’s simply my secret formula for how I stay so handsome, young, and a thing. (Never touched alcohol in my life!)

Here are perfect examples of making sure you lose with some dignity so that afterwards people don’t make fun of you. Now, I am a tennis player, and a great tennis player at that. I don’t really lose that much, and the very few times I have – I took the loss with pride. Unlike these guys…

Just recently, Rich Rodriguez, “head coach” of Michigan Football is digging the program into a big hole. Michigan was one of the elite programs in the nation and all of a sudden, after losing Lloyd Carr, the athletic director is wishing he didn’t force Carr to resign.  In defending himself, Rich Rod decides to break down emotionally. Funny thing here is that not only is the program accused of holding practice longer than usual, but Michigan STILL went 3-9.

Then there is Terrell Owens who is trying to defend his (ex)-quarterback Tony Homo after a Dallas postseason loss – which seems to be a reoccuring theme.

Then for you soccer fans, who all remember Ronaldo crying after a loss in the Euro Cup in 2008. This man pretty much broke down.

Then you have Tracy McGrady who is desperately trying to get past the first round in the NBA playoffs, just like the Cowboys who try to get past the first round in the playoffs as of late.

Or if you are college star, Adam Morrison losing in a heartbreak. By the way, a way not to model your stache after is Adam Morrison. One of the few ugliest men in the world.

And then there is Derek Fisher, of the Los Angeles Lakers who started crying after the Spurs knocked off the Lakers in the NBA playoffs back in 2003.

I thought It’d be nice to list a couple of don’ts

• To start off, never leave any of your friends stranded. No matter what the deal, if they are your friend – treat them like one. If nobody else likes them – don’t worry, it’s how you feel about them. You can’t stay being a thing, if you are betraying your friends. Just like if you play online Halo, if you betray – you will be kicked off your team. Don’t be kicked out of life.
• Stay out of other’s people businesses. If it doesn’t involve you or your family stay out of it. If one of your good friends wants to involve you in something, give them advice and stay out of it. I’ve seen to many times when you end up not staying handsome – because you get involved. When you get involved you may lose sleep – and we all know that beauty rest is so important in staying handsome. Take me for example.
• Do not tease cops. No matter how fun your night is going or not going, messing with cops is a bad idea. Seems like common sense, but I’ve had witnessed accounts of stupidy overcoming people. You can stay young, but be mature about it. And don’t try to follow Lil Wayne in seducing an officer. It doesn’t work, if you aint Weezzzzyyy Babbaaayyyy!
• If you get scared or embarass easily, wear a diaper. If you get upset about not getting what you want or your favorite team losing and feel like urinating is the way to go, don’t. Billy Madison may have said “Peeing in your pants is cool” – but trust me it’s not. Doesn’t make you look handsome, makes you look too young, and definitely doesn’t make you become a thing. Don’t end up like this Cowboys fan:
• Another thing that you should avoid is riding in nice cars, if you don’t belong in one, don’t ride in it. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy a few joy rides. But it means that if you’re going to stink it up with the fast food you’re probably eating, or if you are feeling sick from a “stomach virus” – take a cab, or buy a clunker. It’s not worth cleaning up after your mess in an expensive and super nice car. Don’t end up like this guy:
• Also if you can’t rock any type of facial hair – don’t try to. It’s not about being able to – it’s having the capability of pulling it off that is the difference between a H.Y.T and a U.O.I (Ugly Old It). Stuff like what Ambrose Burnside pulled off is not allowed. See example:
• Do not smoke. If you smoke, you should stop. It definitely is not cool and you are wasting your money and health. You’re not doing your lungs a favor. Smoking a pack a day costs you over $2000 a year – and you can use that money towards getting a new warddrobe, or buying some neato things.

And that is a few of the things that I can think of off the top of my head – about what not to do. If you do these things or have done them in the past – I feel bad for you as you have taken a step back from becoming a bit more like me.

Now obviously this describes me, but how do I continue to be a thing? This is something that you have to be born with. When you walk around and people notice you left and right – you are a thing. When I say notice, I don’t mean in a creepy “oh look at Dennis Rodman” type of way, but in a” damn that man is GQ!” type of way.

Once establishing yourself as an alpha male, such as me, you will start to get autographs, be stopped to pose for photos, and even sometimes talk to someone on the phone. Kind of reminds me of what it’d be like seeing Denzel Washington, Michael Jordan, Beyonce, Barack Obama, Mr. Feeny or Lil Wayne. If you see them on the street, you have to go up to them and ask for their autograph, picture, etc.

Another way you know you are the thing, is if no matter how you change your appearance, you still get these heads turned towards you. For example, we come back once again to the mustache. One of the riskiest things that I could have done, but it turned out so well. Getting recognition from GQ, getting that sneaker deal (they finally came out with the logo!),  and gaining more fans were just a few of the perks that came with the stache.

So I guess I stay so thing, by just being myself. It’s the easiest of the steps, just because you’re either born with or not born with it. If you do take other steps to staying handsome and young, I’d say you might have an outside shot at being the thing. Otherwise you’d end up looking like The Thing from the Fantastic Four:

There is really no secret to staying so young. You have to listen to what the medical experts and researchers say about being healthy. Whether it’s eating well-balanced meals, drinking plenty of water, or getting the your vitamins and minerals for the day.

Being young has come easy for me. People say I have a baby face and often say how adorable I actually am. Being handsome is one thing, but looking boyish and having a young quality is all in my genetics. Now you may say, how can I grow a mustache, and still be called “baby face?” Well, simple answer – because I’m that great.

And then there is the Fountain of Youth. For those of you that are not blessed with my gifts of staying young you’ll need to travel down to Florida and visit this fountain. Juan Ponce de León was said to have been connected to the founding of this great fountain. I have never been here, but if you do want to stay young, I’d suggest you go on an expedition in search of this place. Because if you do find it, then you will be the first to do so. If you can’t use your frequent flyer miles like I do, and can’t afford to look for the Fountain of Youth in Florida – you can try your luck at any fountian. Throw some change in this fountain after making your wish.

When I was a child, one of my favorite football players was Steve Young. Concidence? I think not, even as a child I knew that when I became a bit older I had the potential to be H.Y.T. You just don’t pick Steve Young out of nowhere to be one of your favorite players – it is just destiny. Watching Steve Young was great as a kid, and the fact that he is still on TV, just shows how people I like are great people and how they remain ageless.

As mentioned before, Charles Penzone is a great starter. It makes you feel really great and gets you totally relaxed. If you don’t know anyone there, that’s fine – mention my name, and they’ll probably give you $5 off or something. You won’t get as big a discount as I do, but hey, it’s still an extra $5 in your pocket. If CP is still out of your price range – because of this stupid economy – try Aveda. Aveda is ok, quality isn’t nearly as great, but you can work your way up.

Hygiene is key. You need to be able to look good as well, with products that you use.

• Brush your teeth, floss, and listerine. I hate walking into people who have bad breath. If you know your breath is rank, and have no time for a five minute mouth cleaning twice a day, buy some gum. It’s normally just a $1 for a pack and if you buy those 3 packs, it’ll end up being less per pack. Be a smart shopper.

• My hair looks good because of shampoo. Shampoo and conditioner daily. Don’t try to shortcut your hair by using those “2 in 1″ things. Now I can’t tell you the shampoo I use, because it is a mixture of a few, to get the right formula for my hair. Some starters would be Pantene Pro-V or Garnier. Check your Sunday ads for coupons.
• Of course deodorant is a must. Even if you think being Indian exempts you from deodorant use – you are wrong. Any and every male needs to wear deodorant and it is up to the individual to what brand is best. Go to your local store and get yourself a stick. Cologne is also another nice addition to all of these hygiene tips. Just one spray of your favorite can make noses turn left and right. Not a neccessity like the other things, but if you got some, it doesn’t hurt.
• Grooming your facial hair  is another thing. Whether you rock a mustache, goatee, beard, soul patch, or can’t yet grow facial hair, you need to get rid of your dirt stache and clean up. Different people like different things so whatever you want stick with it and keep it nice.

The post doesn’t end there. How I Met Your Mother is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. You can watch it with friends, watch it with your lady-friend and even watch it by yourself (don’t know what thats like). Well in How I Met Your Mother, there is an episode called “Slap Bet.” Me and “Bad-Hair Guy” made one – I lost, and was going to be slapped 3 times. He gave me a chance to reduce the last one – but still, slaps hurt more than anything in the world. I had “Bad-hair Guy’s” hand mark on my face for quite some time. The Apple CEO was the videotaper. Enjoy – because I didn’t, but still awesome.

The weekend again was a lot of fun and was definitely to see all my fans coming up to me and giving me autographs. “Bad Hair Guy” even helped me get more fans on Friday night. By the end of the night, my hand was tired from all the autograph signings. I’m thinking I should invest in a wrist guard during heavy autograph signing sessions.

Color

All. All colors look great on me and I can’t single one of them out.

Food

Anything with low carbs, low fat, low calories – Too look good, you need to eat well. You don’t look this great by eating ho-hos and twinkies.

Drink

Again anything low carbs and has to be low in sugar. Meaning a lot of water. Sugar rots the teeth, and you can’t have a great smile without those pearly whites.

Book

Don’t read as much. My favorite book will be the one that I write in the future. It’s going to be a bestseller and let people know all the secrets of being Handsome, Young, and a Thing. Look for it in the future!

Genre of Music

I’d say I like Rap or Hip-Hop the most. But I can pretty much listen to anything. When you have a lot of fans, you get used to listening to all types of music.

Music Artist

Lil Wayne. Hands down. He’s so good, he should have his own genre of music. Read a few days ago, when I tell you why Weezy is the best.

When I’m in the mood for classical music, I enjoy me some Yanni. He can rock a stache as well.

Movie

American I’d say I like any James Bond movie – he is a bad mo fo that is just like me. Obviously not as young, but still amazing. I’ve even started to copy his intro of “Bond. James Bond” with my own version…”Thing. Handsome Young Thing.”

I also watch Hindi movies obviously. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been on GQ India. I like all Hindi movies, because their plots are so focused and unique. Among my favorites are Devdas, Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham. If I get a chance to be in a hindi movie, I’d do so in a heartbeat.

TV Show

House – Dr. Greg House doesn’t take any crap from anybody and does his own thing. He isn’t the best of role models, but saves lives, and thats what I like doing too. He does it in the hospital, I do it with my good looks.

Entrouage is another one of my favorites. It’s like a real life story of following a movie star and his buddies live the life in Hollywood. One day I’ll have this life, and have a Drama, E, Turtle, and Ari of my own.

How I Met Your Mother. Another great show. The cast is perfect and the plot line is amzing too. Neil Patrick Harris plays the loving Barney on the show who simply has the best catch phrases ever. The “trash bag suit up” post is coming soon! (I hope) Just waiting on a few things.

I also like Jon and Kate Plus 8. Even though they are divorced, the show is still one of the best reality shows on television – and I’m man enough to admit it. PYT, “Bad Hair Guy’s” Girlfriend (yeah, he has one – pretty bizzare) and I always talk about the new show and always have healthy discussions. If you are not into the show, start from season 1 and get into it.

Sport

I pretty much like all sports. I’m great at tennis and know most about it. But I also enjoy working out and staying in shape. Along with eating well, this is key to looking this handsome, and staying this young, and being a thing like me.

Video Game

Mario Brothers – Mario and Luigi are classic video game characters and have played their games growing up. From Classic Nintendo, to Super Nintendo, to N64, to Gamecube, and now on the Wii. If you’re not a Mario fan, then you obviously are not from this decade. Meaning you’re not young. So either start acting young, or start loving these brothers. Plus – they both rock mustaches as well. Simply amazing that the two most lovable characters with mustaches – until they make one with me in it.

I’m sure you people that follow sports or news in general have heard about the Michael Vick’s tremendous downfall that he experienced over the past few years. In 2007 Vick pleaded guilty to dog fighting and served 23 months in prison. After serving his sentence, commissioner Roger Goodell gave Vick his own kind of deal – to get his second chance in the NFL. He will miss the first 6 regular season games, but is able to practice with his new team (keep reading), and even play in the final preseason games. With that said…

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Michael Vick..

..one of the most exciting players in football. He served his time in jail, and will serve it on the field too. Here’s to hoping he returns better than ever, and leads the Eagles, with McNabb to become Superbowl Champions. I bet Cowboys, Giants and Redskins fans now need a diaper change.

My close friends and family have heard most of them, since I sent the songs to them, but I wanted to share them with all of you too! Don’t ask me why I like them, I just do. The Eagles are one of the best teams in the past decade to not have won a Superbowl. McNabb has never been a fan favorite but has done so much for the team.

I was even almost a “jersey model” for the Philadelphia Eagles team shop, but blended in too much with the Eagles’ black jerseys. A “jersey model” is not a model from New Jersey, but rather one of those models that poses for photos on replica jerseys that are sold in stores and online. Visit their teamshop, and when prompted enter “discount10″ to get a 10% discount when you buy anything online. I know how to find discounts in anything, and trust me online shopping is the way to go.

But the Eagles are definitely my favorite team and they represent the NFC East with great pride. None of the other teams have really come close to the success that the Eagles have had. The Giants, Cowboys, Redskins all suck. A lot.

Why the Giants suck – After losing Plaxico “shoot myself in the leg” Burress the Giants are going to be awful. Eli Manning is the highest paid QB in the league – but for what? He won a superbowl with miracle plays. We’ll see just how good they are when he doesn’t have an 8-foot tall receiver to throw to. Sorry Apple CEO

Why the Cowboys suck – Most of you probably already hate America’s team. They are just the Yankees of the NFL. Their coach is not a real coach, and needs to go on a Subway diet. Aka get some tips from me. Tony Romo sucks at football and life. Sorry PYT and P.Diddy

Why the Redskins suck – Just like the Cowboys, but worse – they try to buy players. They aren’t very successful and just sign big names to big time contracts. The big names don’t produce and just end up regretting going to the nation’s capital. Not to mention their male fans dress like female pigs.

So in conclusion, I will live and die as an Eagles Fan, because they are consistent. Make the playoffs and get far in the playoffs. I am loyal to them and always will be no matter what. McNabb is one of my favorite players of all time and knows how to manage a team. Andy Reid is one of the greatest coaches of all-time. If the Eagles don’t win a Superbowl this year, I will shave my head. You heard it here first.

While signing autographs, people were also letting me know how much I rock. I rock so much, it reminds me of a few songs…We Will Rock You by Queen and Let it Rock by Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil Wayne. For the record, I knew about Let it Rock way before it was played on the radio..I try to keep up with music, and read one of my friends’ cousins blog that updates on music..weworemasks.com (check it out!)

And speaking of Lil Wayne – I think he is the best rapper alive. Nobody comes close to his greatness, and if I could grow dreads like he can, I’d definitely do it. I’m even thinking about getting some tattoos, but not on my face – I’m not that gangsta. So why is Lil Wayne so great? Well let me explain..

He is incomparablewhen it comes to any of the greats. His beats are sick, his lyrics are awesome. He coined the phrase “bling bling.” Ama-zing. One of his best lines is on Kanye West’s “Barry Bonds:”

Me: Well, I was just sitting in the mirror looking at myself, and after 45 minutes of doing my hair, and thought that I should grow my mustache out to see how it looked. I’ve been getting turned faces left and right about it and definitely think that people are noticing who I am finally.

Rajakarthikeyan: Wery wery good yaar. I have seen your vebsite work and it is top yaar. just top. Vat makes you write all the stuffs on the vebsite?

Me: Well I just wanted to give back to the community and to the world that I grew up in. It’s not everyday that you are blessed with my handsomeness and I thought I would allow people to get a glimpse of my life.

Rajakarthikeyan: Wery wery good. Now, ve want to be sure that even though you is got born in the U S of A, that you shtill are wery much indian. Do you do anything to make sure you are 100% Hindustani?

Me: Well I go to India, just about every other year if I can. Visit family and friends that we have still living there. I enjoy the lifestyle of scooters and small people all the time. It’s definitely an eye opening experience, because people have a negative connotation about the country, when in reality its a beautiful place. Sure it has its poverty problems, but what country doesn’t?

Rajakarthikeyan: You said a lot of mumbo jumbo there. But I likes how you thinks yaar. Vat is your daily routine of how you become wery pretty?

Me: Well after getting my 8 hours of beauty sleep, I cleanse my face with a special formula of soap. I do get pimples and when I do, I don’t go out in public, but for the most part I keep my face pretty oil free.

Rajakarthikeyan: Oil is sooo ghood yaar. Shorry to iintherhupt. Please phroceed.

Me: No problem. As I was saying, after washing my face, I’ll take my first shower of the day, after shaving. Having the mustache definitely helps cut down the shaving though. So then after showering, I proceed to brush my teeth. Freshen up, and then spend anywhere from 1-2 hours on my hair – depending on the how its acting. By the time I get done with my hair its time for me to do my daily observing of myself in the mirror and make sure I’m looking handsome, young, and thing-like. And then I’ll go to classes and study, taking showers in between when I feel like I have dust particles on me.

When I first started going out with my P.Y.T, I would use these 7 among others to describe the way I’d feel online. Even though I was in college, I felt no harm in using it. However, as our relationship matured, I did too. She made me realize that there was really no point of using “lol” unless you actually did “Laugh Out Loud.” There never was a point where I had to laugh out loud based on what some one said on AOL Instant Messenger.

LMAO is something that I used when I got bored of saying LOL, and now one my friends uses it way too much. He tells me that he actually does laugh his a** off, but I highly doubt it. He’s a really funny guy and normally doesn’t laugh and stupid stuff.

ROFL is something that I used in middle school, because it looks cool. There is really no other reason to use it, by the time I was in ninth grade, this term was out of my aimcabulary.

OMG is something that I can understand people use, if they get lazy and can’t type out “Oh My God.” I normally use it if someone is explaining things and typing pretty fast and I need to respond to let them know that I’m still there. I don’t know. I still use this, but not as often as I did.

IDK is another pet peeve of mine, because again it signifies laziness. If you really don’t know, then let the person know in a sofisticated way. “I don’t understand,” “I don’t understand what you’re saying,” “I don’t have an idea,” “Can you explain more clearly” … etc

-

BFF is something that I used to used back in middle school. Then I realized I am not a girl and stopped using it.

ORLY?! – YA RLY! was a stupid phase in my life that I used for probably a week, just because I found the “ORLY owl” hilarious. I actuall did laugh out loud.

So when any of you have any types of comments or suggestions, don’t use acronymns that aren’t supposed to be acronyms. Live in the real world, and unless you’re still in high school or middle school – stop using them!

So after Thursday night, stress ensued on Friday – won’t get into many details, but I definitely needed to go out and get… a facial and a manicure. Yea I said it. I feel like most men that are as handsome, young, and a thing like me, do these things, and hey I got to keep my rep up.  So instead of going out with friends, I ended up treating myself to a nice relaxing day at Charles Penzone. I call it CP for short. Yea, I go there, since I know most people who work there – I get a discount. Plus it feels so good to get a nice massage, get a nice manicure, and even a pedicure.  Had such a relaxing time at the salon that most of my stress is gone.

Sunday – was a pretty easy going day. Wish I went to CP again for a followup, but decided just to relax. My phone was ringing off the hook. My other idiot friend kept calling me to watch some golf, because he has a crush on Tiger Woods. Not a man-crush, but I’m pretty sure he is sexually attracted to Tiger in an extremely weird way. I like Tiger and don’t see why anyone wouldn’t, but my friend is just a little over the top with his stuff – but hey thats how he is. So I’m making him happy by posting about Tiger. Congrats to Tiger for winning at the Buick Open this weekend (just read it on ESPN.com).

Rest of Sunday was easy going (I didn’t watch any golf) so was just catching TV movies all day long and then of course finished up on Entourage. I hate my other friend (trash bag suit up one) for getting me addicted to the show, but at the same time wish he would have gotten me into it sooner. There will be an Entourage post in the future – because it’s easily one of the best shows on television right now.

Pretty busy week like usual, but finally heading into the weekend to relax and get some of my beauty sleep. The acronym T.G.I.F. got me thinking about way back in the 1990′s when ABC used to have us look forward to Friday nights for their sitcoms.

Family Matters – Easily one of my favorite shows. Steve Urkel obviously made the show what it was and I definitely was happy to see Urkel under go a character change to become “Stefan Urquelle.” Who reminds me a little about myself. He was smooth, got the ladies, and knew how to talk the talk and walk the walk. Obviously I do it better, but still, Stefan came close to my handsomeness.

Boy Meets World – Who could forget this bunch? Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and of course Mr. Feeny. When I get older – I want to be the Mr. Feeny. Great next door neighbor who knows what’s he talking about and still can pull off the gray suits. Always having the right advice for Cory, Shawn and Eric – Mr. Feeny is the go to guy, which is how I am. And he can rock a pretty mean mustache – something that I would not be able to do. Although I may try it in the future and run it by you guys…

Step by Step – One of the most catchy theme songs ever. Another good show. Not up to standards like Family Matters or Boy Meets World, but it did it’s job, filling in the holes. Cody, the cousin, made things very interesting. He lived in the van and was always a little slower than the other kids, but was a definite must for the show. Nobody in the show was really up to my H.Y.T standards, but I still watched the show, because I’m not that lame.

So on Sunday I finally picked up my Iphone 3G S. If you don’t have one – go get one. Now. Well if you haven’t been alive for the past few years, apple’s iphones and ipod touches have an option to have applications that you can get on the phones. Which brings us to today…

Apple has discontinued the HYT app from the App Store. I’m so disappointed right now! They claim that too many people have been complaining about the app, stating that it is not realistic enough. I will continue to open myself up to testing, because I know how much people have been relying on the HYT app for their personal experiences.

Here is what Apple wrote: Apple.com — We are temporarily removing the HYT application from the App store. This app, available on iPhone and iPod touch, has been successful in terms of download numbers but not in terms of use. The App was built to allow users to gain a true understanding of how to love an HYT. The decision is due to the number of complaints that the app is not realistic enough. We will continue to work with the HYT and his partner to bring you an experience simulating that of the love-making of the true HYT.

One of my best friends also saw this. He is an appleholic. He eats one apple everyday hoping that Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) calls and asks him if he wants to help him out to be his partner in crime. If there were apple brand clothes – he’d probably have it. So thanks, bud for sharing this news with me. Good luck with your CEO endeavors.

Can’t wait for the weekend coming up! Had a tough Physics midterm this week, but since I’m pretty good at physics (took AP in high school) I aced that mo fo. I’m like the new Einstein but more handsome, more young, and I will be the better thing. The professor pretty much sucks at life, and is definitely not worthy of being mentioned in the post. I skip class for two reasons. Professor doesn’t know how to teach and I’d rather work on my hair for an extra 30 min per day.
